Historical walk sure to delight

The second 'Walks around Whitsun' series of guided tours is set to take place this month around the East Riding, with one walk taking place in Howden on Thursday, May 24.

The walks aim is to bring local history to life and is led by experts in their fields. Staff from East Riding of Yorkshire Council's archives and local studies service will be on hand at each event to advise how participants can find out more about local and family history at the Treasure House in Beverly, which now houses the East Riding archives and local studies collection.

The walk starts at 7.15pm, meeting at Howden Minster and is led by Geoff Bell. It costs £3 for one event or £10 for a season ticket. Booking is essential. For more information or to book a place, call the council's archives and local studies service on (01482) 392790.
