Safety first

A double decker bus to promote Victim Support is heading to Goole on Friday, May 25, after touring the whole of the region.

A collaboration of representatives from the charity, the police and the fire service will travel around for three weeks on the bus, which was provided by Haltemprice Crime Prevention Panel, before finishing in Goole.

Mr Dave Metcalf, deputy manager of Haltemprice and Holderness Victim Support said: "The aim of the road show is to raise public awareness about crime prevention and fire safety and gain public support. Lots of crime prevention and safety devices will be given away for free on the day including smoke detectors, personal alarms and window alarms. We will also be looking to recruit volunteers."

The bus will be parked at Goole Leisure Centre from 10am to 3pm on Friday, May 25.
