Deer drowned in canal

A deer has drowned after it got into the Aire and Calder canal in Rawcliffe Bridge.
Firefighters went to the canal next to the Black Horse at 7am yesterday (Wednesday) morning after it was reported by a boatsman.
Unfortunately, the deer had drowned by the time they arrived.
