Leapt from window in fear

Published on 14th September 2006 in News

A Howden woman had to jump out of a first-floor window to escape a woman who forced her way into her flat at the weekend.

The incident took place at around 9.30pm on Sunday, September 10, as the 24-year-old woman was at her Market Place home getting ready for a night out.

She answered a knock at her door only to have the door forced open and a woman barge her way into the flat. She was able to close the door before a further two women were able to get inside.

The intruder began arguing with the woman and accused her of chatting-up her boyfriend.

Fearing for her own safety the occupant locked herself in the bathroom and then leapt out of the window.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may know the identity of any of the three women is asked to contact police on 0845 6060222.
