Anyone fancy a beach wedding?
Published on 3rd May 2007 in News
A new initiative from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council means that couples may soon be able to tie the knot on a beach or boat.
From the end of April, weddings and civil partnership services will be able to take place at private venues, opening up the possibility for home, beach or even boat weddings.
Couples will visit their local register office to complete the legal process and will then be able to have a ceremony performed by their 'personal professional celebrant' at a venue of their choice.
Subject to a venue assessment, the ceremony can take place wherever the couple choose, and will no longer be subject to the 8am to 6pm restriction.
The process will be simpler and cheaper than the current one, with fees starting at around £390.
