Driving charge

Published on 3rd May 2007 in News

A Blacktoft man has appeared before magistrates after being caught driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance or mot test certificate.

Nathaniel Wheel (37), of Main Street, Blacktoft, appeared before Goole Magistrates' Court via a video link from H.M. Prison Hull on Friday, April 27, and pleaded guilty to the three charges.

Prosecuting, Mrs Julie Laverack Glanville told the court that in the early hours of March 23 this year a police patrol car spotted Mr Wheel driving a blue Volkswagon panel van along Main Street in Blacktoft. The patrol car signalled for Mr Wheel to stop the car, but he continued driving for half a mile until he pulled up in a driveway.

But when Mr Wheel stopped he was said to be 'fully co-operative' with the police, holding his hands up as he was approached by police and fully admitting to driving whilst disqualified.

Magistrates adjourned the case until Friday, May 18, awaiting a pre-sentence report.
