Live music and poetry in Eastoft

Published on 3rd May 2007 in News

St Bartholomew's Church, Eastoft was the venue for a spectacularly patriotic and amusing Music & Poetry Evening on Saturday, April 21, when Frank Ella & Jean Marshall entertained.

Frank and the Marshland singers treated a full Church to a selection of songs, old and new culminating in a 'Last Night of the Proms' style finale.

The Church resounded to the sounds of music and voices as the whole audience stood, flags waving and joined Frank with 'There'll always be an England', 'Rule Brittania' and 'Land of Hope and Glory'.

Special guest Jean Marshall had the audience captivated and extremely amused as she recited some of her own hilarious poetry.

An uplifting and enjoyable time was had by all and the evening raised £420 for Church funds.
