Goole's Silent Movie Project hots up this month with a series of events including mime auditions and special effects workshops.
Based at The Courtyard on Boothferry Road, the project will see young people produce a film inspired by the history and heritage of Goole.
The sessions have been very well attended so far but newcomers are always welcome.
On Saturday (May 6), filmmakers will vote in the winning film story at the Gong Show - so if you come along with a film idea, it might be your film that is made.
The following Saturday (May 12), Paul Arrowsmith, a screenwriter and guest lecturer at the Northern Film School, will help the writers turn the winning story into a short film script.
Paul has worked as a script editor and advisor on more than 50 short films and is currently writing a feature film about Leonardo da Vinci.
Auditions will take place on Sunday May 13, when mime expert Tim Eagle will lead auditions in a workshop teaching the skills of silent film acting.
Tim, who will stay with the group to choreograph the mime scenes, has worked for companies such as Disney, Warner Brothers and Butlins.
Also on May 13, special effects animator David Bunting will lead an effects workshop and show how the impossible can be made possible.
Rehearsal and writing workshops will continue over the next few weekends with the film being shot over the half-term holidays in time for an autumn premiere.
All the events will take place between 12.30pm and 6pm.
The Gong Show and the mime workshop will take place at The Gate, on Dunhill Road, and the scriptwriting and special effects sessions will be in the Dunhill Road Community Centre, next to The Gate.
