As well as his sky-dive, Alan will be shaving off his long hair to raise money for charity.

First a marathon, now a sky dive.

Alan Hardy, of Bellasize Park, Gilberdyke has already completed a marathon in New York and now he's getting ready to throw himself out of a plane.

Alan is hoping to raise at least £400 each for the Make A Wish Foundation and Get Kids Going from a sponsored skydive on May 12.

"It's be quite scary," he said. "I've bungee jumped before and when I got to the top I didn't go. I got bungee pushed instead!

"I'm not particularly good with heights."

Alan is also planning to shave off his long hair, which he has been growing for the last four years.

The Make A Wish Foundation wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses, whether that be a wish to be a princess or a policeman for a day, own the latest computer equipment or just enjoy some time away from their home with their family.

Get Kids Going supplies children with specially built sport wheelchairs so they can compete in marathons, mountain skiing, basketball and other sports just like everyone else.

Alan is kindly being sponsored by The White Horse in Gilberdyke.
