Preparations are currently under way to ensure that the tenth birthday of Windsor Court Care Home in Goole is celebrated in style.

The care home will be celebrating its tenth birthday on Friday, May 4 and to mark the event the home will be open from 2pm onwards to allow past members of staff and others involved in the care home to come along and join in the fun.

Suzanne Bruce, administrator at Windsor Court, told the Goole Times that there will be a whole host of entertainment on offer on the day, including tea dances and a sing-along from pupils at Boothferry School.

Chance to enjoy your favourite tipple

Suzanne said: "Our pub will be open and so will our sweet shop. We have a lady living here who has been here since the first year, so we will be presenting her with a bouquet of flowers.

"We started with seven residents on the first day, when people came from Gilberdyke and Airmyn, and we have just built up from there and now have a good reputation, so it's only right that we celebrate."
