Biker badly hurt in smash

An out-of-town motorcyclist suffered serious injuries when he crashed into a car near The Vikings last Sunday.

The 31-year-old man from Newark, in Lincolnshire, was riding a Kawasaki bike along the A614 when he was hit by a white Nissan Micra shortly before 2pm.

Another motorist saw the accident in his rear view mirror and called the emergency services.

The motorcyclist was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with injuries including a fractured leg.
