Feeling arty?

Published on 14th September 2006 in News

Local residents of all ages are being urged to find their creative flair and enter a competition illustrating how they would like the East Riding to look in 2016.

The competition is being launched by East Riding Local Strategic Partnership (LSP), and those who enter could see their illustration being used in 'Our East Riding', the forthcoming East Riding of Yorkshire Community Strategy.

"We would like colourful and strong images that clearly show our residents a vision for the area," said Carl Duck, East Riding LSP manager.

"Residents may want to base their pictures around one of the themes of the new strategy: children, young people, health, community safety, road safety, jobs and the local economy, the environment, housing, the countryside, or rural areas."

There are three competition age categories: under nine years of age, 10 to 18 years, and over 18 years. All the age category winners and other selected illustrations will be included in the final 'Our East Riding' strategy document.

The closing date for entries is 5pm on Thursday, September 21. Entrants should send an A4-sized illustration showing their vision of the East Riding to Carl Duck, East Riding Local Strategic Partnership Manager, Room HG 115, County Hall, Beverley, HU17 9BA.
