Award hopes

Published on 19th April 2007 in News

Howden Live Arts is set to go head-to-head with other establishments across the county next month in a bid to win East Riding of Yorkshire Council's (ERYC) Chairman's Awards.

Howden Live Arts is one of three finalists nominated for the Enhancing the Social Well-Being of East Riding of Yorkshire group category, going up against The Burn, an acoustic music club in Kirkburn and the Skidby Windmill Volunteer Millers.

ERYC's Chairman's Awards were set up to recognise those outside the council who are striving to enhance the region.

Howden Town Mayor Ingrid Ridley, who nominated Howden Live Arts for the award, told this newspaper this week: "I am absolutely over the moon about this. Howden Live Arts has put in a lot of work over the years and to become a finalist is excellent."

Howden Live Arts will find out how it has fared at an awards ceremony held at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Willerby on Tuesday, May 15.
