Judges from the Goole in Bloom team take a look at some of the allotments in Goole.

Judges from Yorkshire in Bloom visited the town yesterday to view 'Springtime in Goole'.

The judges visited a variety of spots, including Parkside Primary School, where pupils showcased their tree and bulb-planting and floral displays.

The judges then took a drive along Airmyn Road to view residents' gardens, followed by a visit to Phoenix Gardens Allotment, owned by the Green Team, to meet community members and see the work of volunteers.

A drive along Boothferry Road was next, to see the greenery and colourful foliage of Vermuyden School and Goole College. They then visited the cenotaph to look at the displays in the gardens.

Next, the judges stopped at the Waterways Museum for refreshments, where they enjoyed the marina planting and viewed a photographic display of the nature trail whilst meeting young people involved in the project.

Afternoon to remember

A drive around the clock tower allowed the judges to view the floral display sponsored by Goole Development Trust which was followed by a walk along the riverbank to Lock Hill Memorial gardens.

A short drive along leafy Hook Road to Riverside Gardens to view the flowerbeds and gardens led them to Westfield banks and the end of the tour.
