A Swinefleet man is to face crown court on charges relating to the death of his wife in a car crash in November of last year.
David Norman Gosling (49) is said to have been more than three times over the drink/drive limit when his Rover Vitessse car crashed on the A19 at Walden Stubbs on November 5.
His wife, Diane, died 11 days later from injuries sustained in the incident.
Mr Gosling, formerly of High Street and now of Sweyne Garth, Swinefleet, appeared before Selby magistrates last Thursday on a charge of causing death by driving without due care and with an alcohol level of 116 microgrammes in his breath - the legal limit for driving being 35 microgrammes.
No plea to the charge was entered and the case was adjourned until tomorrow, when Mr Gosling will appear before a judge at York Crown Court.
As a condition of his bail Mr Gosling was ordered not to drive any motor vehicle on any public road.
