Man drowned after fatal dockside fall

A 63-year-old man from Liverpool died at the weekend when he drowned in Goole docks.
Peter Krykant, a crew member onboard the mvAgila, died in Goole Hospital on Sunday, April 15 after falling into Goole docks as he attempted to board the vessel moored at the Pal Line UK's berth.
The ambulance service received an emergency call shortly after 4pm. On arrival at the docks they found that Mr Krykant had been pulled out of the water and was unconscious on the quayside. Attempts were being made to resuscitate him
Mr Krykant was rushed to Goole Hospital and further attempts were made to resuscitate him, but he was later pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police told the Goole Times that Mr Krykant's family had been informed and his death was not being treated as suspicious. An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned on Tuesday.
