It has been confirmed this week that self-service checkouts are soon to be a feature in the Tesco store in Boothferry Road.
A spokesperson for Tesco told the Goole Times that shoppers can expect to a small number of self-service checkouts available in-store from mid-May.
It is thought that there have been concerns from some members of staff about potential job losses as a result, but the Tesco spokesperson said the new self-service checkouts would mean 'no threat to jobs whatsoever.'
