Facing a difficult day

A birthday is always a day of celebration but for Nick Foster, turning 22 next Monday, September 18, is going to be a day of mixed emotion - it will be his first birthday without his identical twin brother by his side.
Sam Foster tragically died in a car crash near West Cowick on December 12 last year.
Throughout the difficult months since Sam's death, Nick, of Brigg Lane in Camblesforth, has been supported by his family, friends and employer and is now beginning to rebuild his life.
Nick has just been appointed vice-president of Goole and District Young Farmers and he has taken up the position of young scout leader for the 1st Snaith Scout Group.
Nick has been an active member of the Scout group for three years and takes a keen role in organising and planning their camps, parades and activities.
Speaking to the Goole Times this week their mother, Carol Foster, said: "Our family and friends have given so much over the past months and thanks to this support and love Nick is able to move on with his life.
"Sam and Nick were inseparable and did everything together. Not only has Nick lost a much-loved brother but also his best friend.
"It's particularly difficult for Nick now because not only did they share a birthday but they shared their lives. Nick's life has been shattered by the loss of his brother.
"We will never forget Sam and we remain devastated by his loss. The whole family will mourn his loss forever."
