At the recent meeting, members of Snaith and Cowick Town Council:
* Heard that a planning application relating to new Town Council premises in Snaith is set to go before an East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) planning committee meeting in May.
* Heard that a site meeting held at the Princess of Wales Play Area on April 2 was successful, and it has now been decided that the play equipment will be re-painted in bright colours to give the area a much-needed re-vamp. The possibility of adding a new piece of play equipment has also been discussed.
* Heard that officers from ERYC's Streetscene department is set to visit Snaith in the summer, when representatives from the Town Council will accompany officers on a tour of the town to highlight a series of issues including graffiti and signage problems.
* Once again agreed that the Town Council has gone "as far as it can" in terms of attempting to resolve the issue surrounding the controversial replacement of Snaith Library's windows with aluminium window frames and plastic fascia boards. The library is situated within a conservation area.
Councillors urged any members of the local community that are wishing to pursue this issue to contact the local government Ombudsman with a complaint.
* Heard that an ERYC road surface dressing programme has now begun in Lodge Lane and Ivy Lane in West Cowick, and is set to take around 14 weeks to complete. This programme will mean the improvement of the road surface in Lodge Lane and Ivy Lane, and can only be carried out in summer when road surfaces are dry.
