Easter dash
Published on 5th April 2007 in News
Goole and District Motorcycle Club members will be having their annual Easter Egg Run on Easter Sunday, April 8.
The Wobbly Goolies, as they are known, are collecting eggs and money in aid of Disney Ward, Scunthorpe General Hospital. This children's ward is the paediatric unit where most local children under 16 would be admitted if needed. Last year the Club donated dozens of eggs and a cheque for £1,000. This year members will be raising funds for specific equipment: £500 will buy a portable oxygen saturation measuring machine; £1,000 will buy a blood pressure taking machine.
Club members meet at the Macintosh Arms in Aire Street, Goole at 11am. Riders will call in at Prospect House on Woodland Avenue to give the residents some eggs. From there members will ride to Scunthorpe via Marshalnd, so that learners and lower-powered bikes can join in and enjoy the journey.
Then it's bikes home and back to the pub later for the raffle draw and a few drinks. Readers are invited to see the riders off or join them afterwards. Raffle tickets are available on the day and from behind the bar at the Macintosh Arms. Please give generously with your donations and eggs.
If you want to find out more about the club, come and chat to members on the day or come to a meeting. The club meets at 9pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Mac. Age and ability don't matter, just an interest in bikes. For further information call Mike on 07751 595320, or check out the website: www.wobblygoolies.co.uk
