Rawcliffe residents Allan and Margery Franks celebrate their diamond wedding with friends and family today.

Allan and Margery met when they were only three years old and both pupils at Rawcliffe Bridge Primary School. They lost touch when Allan moved to Rawcliffe with his family when he was six.

"To be two miles apart from one another was quite a distance in those days!" said Margery.

The happy couple, who were married at St James' Church in Rawcliffe, were reunited a number of years later when dancing at Rawcliffe Village Hall, and have been inseparable ever since.

Celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary today, the couple (pictured left) will enjoy a meal with their family and will be hosting a family party at Goole Leisure Centre on Sunday, April 8.
