A 14-year-old girl from Howden was knocked off her bike by a car and left lying in the road last Wednesday night.
The girl was cycling on Derwent Crescent shortly after 10pm when she was hit by a small, dull-red car, which left the scene.
The teenager was taken to Scunthorpe General Hospital with a head injury and a suspected broken pelvis, but was allowed home the same night.
The girl is now recovering at home and her family would like to thank everyone who went to her aid before the ambulance arrived.
Anyone with any information about the accident should contact Humberside Police, quoting log number 717 of March 28.
