Two charged in armed robbery case

Two men from the Manchester area have been charged in connection with last Wednesday's armed robbery at the Nationwide Building Society in Pocklington.

John Wood (21), of Agecroft Road, East Prestwich, Manchester and Phillip Kelly (23), of Tucana Avenue, Salford, appeared before magistrates in Beverley yesterday morning (Wednesday) charged with conspiring to rob.

They have been remanded in custody and will appear at Hull Crown Court at a later date.
