Compost plan

It was proposed earlier this week that a meeting should be held in Snaith to discuss the possibility of a community composting scheme being set up within the town.
Following a presentation from East Riding of Yorkshire Council's (ERYC) new composting officer Steve Hill at the last council meeting, members of Snaith Town Council decided on Monday that a meeting should be held to discuss the viability of a 'composting club' being set up in the town.
ERYC is currently offering funding for new groups to start up community composting schemes, and will pay up to £75 per tonne of green waste composted.
Cllr Richard Bridge said: "I think that this is something which we should pursue vigorously, but we should be supporters of a compost club and not the drivers."
Councillors suggested that a public meeting is held in Snaith School's library on Monday, May 21 at 7pm, when residents interested in forming a 'composting club' can find out more information.
Leaflets confirming the date, time and venue of the meeting, as well as further information about community composting, are set to be printed and issued to Snaith residents in the May issue of The Link.
