Published on 29th March 2007 in News

Baylis Logistics, which has a site on New Potter Grange Road in Goole, has secured a new contract to distribute products manufactured by Monkhill Confectionery, a company owned by Cadbury Schweppes.

Monkhill is a leading player within the sugar confectionery market, supplying its own brands, such as Sharps, Pascall and Jamesons, as well as quality retailer of own-brand ranges to major retail customers, including Tesco and Marks & Spencer.

The company also manufactures the Butterkist popcorn brand, which is the number one popcorn brand in the UK.

Baylis is responsible for collecting pre-assembled orders on a continuous cycle from the Monkhill distribution site in Chesterfield. Deliveries are made to a wide range of supermarket multiples, such as Asda, Morrison's and Sainsbury's, together with wholesalers and independent retailers.

Duncan Elliot, head of distribution at Monkhill, told the Goole Times: "Baylis has an established UK network that can provide shared-user or dedicated deliveries that meet our requirements.

"With customers including small independent retailers as well as the major multiples, we need a flexible service that can handle our complete distribution operation."
