A very special woman made sure it was not just herself who celebrated her 50th birthday.
When Erna Green hit the big 50 recently she asked friends and families for charitable donations instead of presents, and along with money from her own table-top sales, she raised £500.
On Monday she was at The Courtyard in Goole to give three cheques to local groups.
Erna (centre) is pictured with John Allen, chair of the Goole Area Access and Disability Group and secretary Cindy Simpson. Also in the picture are Kate Holdsworth with dog Toddy, from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, and Carol Hodson and members of Artsaway. All the groups received £166.67. Lisa Morton, co-ordinator of The Courtyard Kids' Club, received £80 and is also pictured. (15-03-34 GT)
