War memorial additions plan

Published on 22nd March 2007 in News

Howden Town Council is trying to track down the names of Howden residents who have died on military service since the second world war in order to commemorate them on the town's war memorial.

It has been requested that the name of Private Luke Simpson's name, the Howden soldier who died in Iraq last month, be added to the town's war memorial.

Members of Howden Town Council, meeting this week, thought it would be appropriate to trace the names of other Howden residents who have died while on military service so that their names may be added.

If you know of any Howden residents that have died in service since World War Two, please contact Liz Charnock, Howden Town Council Clerk, on 01430 449836 with information.
