Street attack

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked as he walked along Colonel's Walk in Goole.

The attack happened at 10.30pm on Saturday, March 10. The victim, a 42-year-old man from Goole, was approached by two men, one of whom was on a bike.

The two men tried to speak to him but when he did not reply the man who was walking attacked him, hitting him several times on the head.

As a result the victim suffered bruising and swelling to his left cheek and eye.

Fortunately, the man was able to get his mobile phone out of his pocket and shouted to the men that he was going to call the police.

The two men made off in the direction of Pasture Road.

The man who hit him was white with a tanned complexion, with dark stubble on his face. He was aged around 18 years, was 5ft 6in to 5ft 7in tall, with short, dark hair. He was wearing light, baggy jeans, a hooded top with a zip front, which was either grey or dark blue, and white Adidas trainers.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or who may know the identity of the men is asked to contact police on 0845 6060222, quoting log 882 of March 10.
