The collision occurred after the Suzuki rider, a 55-year-old man from Knottingley, lost control of his motorbike when he tried to overtake another vehicle on the road, near the Gowdall turning.

After slamming into the other machine, Mr Bradley also collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other motorcyclist suffered serious chest injuries and was taken to Pinderfields Hospital at Wakefield. The 25-year-old Snaith man driving the car, a red Renault Clio, escaped unhurt.
