Council tax rise considered
Published on 15th February 2007 in News
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC) will consider a draft budget showing an increase in council tax of 4.9 per cent today (Thursday).
Councillors will be presented with a figure of £1,106.87 for band D tax payers - but this does not include money for special expenses, parish and town council precepts or fire and police authority precepts.
Special expenses have risen by 15.5 per cent from the current year, and parish and town council precepts by 6.7 per cent.
Humberside Fire Authority has agreed an increase of just under five per cent.
The figures have been drafted by the corporate management team but the decision on the actual rise in council tax will be made by ERYC councillors.
