Dance styles explored in teen project

Published on 18th January 2007 in News

Teenagers in Goole who are interested in dancing are being urged to part take in a series of workshops.

The East Riding Youth Dance Project was launched in September, 2005 with four groups taking part but because of the project's success a new group was introduced in Goole during September last year. The group is now seeking new members to join them.

Workshops will be taking place at The Courtyard in Goole and start today, Thursday January 18, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. Enthusiastic young people aged 14 to 18 years of age are welcome.

Whether a total beginner or a more advanced dancer, the Youth Dance experience is unbeatable. Dance Artist, Donna Frame will be teaching participants new and exciting dance styles.

Enjoy ten weeks of two-hour workshops learning new techniques and creating your own choreography. This then leads to a youth dance platform where the six groups involved in the project come together to share their hard work with family and friends.

The project is funded by Arts Council, England and the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
