Town's toilets not fit for animals
Published on 13th November 2008 in Letters
Sir - Regarding Paul Thompson's letter (October 30) about the cost of Goole Town Council's Bonfire Night event, I have just arrived back from Germany where I spend at least three months out of the year with family.
On reading your Readers' Page on October 30 I was very upset with what the cost of the Goole bonfire/fireworks display was costing the tax payers - £20,600, according to Mr Thompson. I think this is a disgrace!
It is time there was a shake up if they can spend silly money like that. Goole needs some decent toilets, as the public toilets that are there I would not let my dog use.
They should take a leaf out of the German Sanitary Department's book. All their toilets are well-kept, spotless and you get a towel and a toilet seat (paper) cover when you go, at maximum cost of about 15p of our money (York is dearer than that).
So come on, Goole Town Council, do something right and stop people's money going up in smoke - get some decent toilets.
