Classroom memories from 1956

This photograph takes us back to 1956 and was sent in by Joan Higgins, nee Theaker, from Goole. The photograph shows the 1956 class at the Secondary Modern Girls School in Goole. Speaking about her fellow pupils at the school, Mrs Higgins said: "I still keep in touch with some of the girls in my class, which is really nice."

Mrs Higgins, who said her favourite subject at school was games, particularly hockey, is pictured third from the left on the second row from the back.
