Believe in yourself

Published on 28th August 2008 in Letters

Sir - I am an undergraduate studying Educational Studies ay York University, just about to start my second year. I could go on to train as a primary teacher if I chose.

I would just like to make a very important point to all students who have recently received their exam results. My point is that I received my GCSE results around seven years ago and only achieved one grade C, the rest being Ds and Es. I went to York College and qualified as a nursery nurse, which then gave me a place at York.

Had I not believed in myself and listened to my teachers, I would not have believed I could ever find myself at university.

So, to anyone who had received grades less than a C, please believe in yourself and look forward to a bright future, at college or university.
