Parked van should be moved

Published on 14th August 2008 in Letters

Sir - I read in your paper a few weeks ago about the van being parked on the corner in Airmyn, and how the reader thought it should be moved.

I'm in agreement with this as on July 30, I was coming through Airmyn and had to pull out to pass the van.

I was in a Vivaro van going around 25mph; coming towards me was a Freelander also overtaking a van parked near the building site, going around 40mph. He clipped my mirror and took it off, but did not stop.

I stopped and went back, picked my mirror up off the road, and was going to go and see the man or woman who owns the badly-parked van, when an elderly gent said not to bother: others have tried.

Through this paper please can something be done about this situation before it's something more than my mirror - and an expensive one at that?
