Great news about Lowther
Published on 24th July 2008 in Letters
Sir - Great news to read that the Julie Howard Partnership intends to take up the enormous challenge of restoring the old Lowther Hotel to its former glory.
I hope there will be great interest in the project and helpful suggestions offered by local people. Judging by the huge strides they have already achieved in enhancing building work on the Station Hotel, Aire Street, shops and other buildings in Goole, it is bound to be a huge success.
How refreshing, these days, that someone actually cares about restoring and dignifying, rather that the more usual option of demolishing often seemingly worthwhile buildings. Good luck to them.
