Singing from same hymn-sheet?

Published on 24th July 2008 in Letters

Sir - After reading the report on Peter Jackson's 'unannounced' visit to Goole Town Council, it does make you wonder if in fact he and Sally Burns work for the same directorate. When Sally Burns gave her very popular, public speech at GTC, where the room was bursting with eager listeners, she clearly stated that Richard Cooper Street and Phoenix Street were not only on target but indeed well within budget.

Along with painting this perfect little Utopia where everyone will wish to live, she has also dismissed GAG as a few mouthy objectors with no clout.

Then Peter Jackson arrived unannounced and apparently blamed everyone under the sun for this failing, sinking, no-plan project - apart from himself.

Lord Heath used to have mad tantrums, which colleagues would put down to an 'ageing politician who had lost the plot'. Can we see any similarities to Mr Jackson's outburst?
