Scheme is a disaster
Sir - The House of Commons Public Accounts Committee have been presented with evidence to show that the 'Pathfinder' scheme is in fact a disaster. Local Authorities have failed to deliver new homes, and have demolished 10,000 homes and replaced them with 1,000 in the North of England.
However, do comments from the Department for Communities and Local Government breathe hope for renovation of Richard Cooper Street and Phoenix Street in Goole?
They have said that "It is completely wrong to suggest pathfinders have only succeeded in demolishing homes when four times as many houses have been refurbished in this programme.
The number of properties expected to be demolished has been reduced by a third, due to improved consultation with local communities.".
Come on East Riding, CONSULT your local Community.
