Ambulance service fantastic

Published on 12th June 2008 in Letters

Sir - I feel I must respond to the article 'Complaint over ambulance delay' (Goole Times, last week.) I appreciate the gentlemen was in pain, but I think it a little dramatic for a complaint to be made.

The Ambulance Service do a fantastic job. If a call comes in for an accident or a heart attack victim the crews will surely be sent to the people who have life-threatening injuries or symptoms.

A dislocated shoulder is NOT life-threatening.  Perhaps ring the emergency doctor? I think we should give more credit to our Ambulance Crews and not complain about them. They do not get paid enough for the work they have to do, and their resources are limited.

I previously worked for the Ambulance Service and am fully aware of the difficult conditions under which the personnel operate.
