Swim vouchers no use at Leisure Centre

Published on 5th June 2008 in Letters

Sir - After reading how Goole's Mayor wants the children of Goole to have access to more activities, I didn't think twice about buying Kellogg's cereals and spending a little more than usual, thinking my children would benefit from the free swim vouchers.

I should have known better: this is Goole after all and, no, our swimming pool doesn't accept these vouchers. I am on a very limited budget but try my best for the children. They swim most Sundays and do martial arts at Goole Leisure Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the long summer holidays looming I was trying to get a few vouchers together for them, thinking they were a God send.

Well, sorry, people of Goole and the surrounding villages, it looks like we dip out again. (An explanation, Mr Mayor, please!)
