Sir - Here we go again! Another useless bit of propaganda is to be used to try and sort out a problem (carrying knives).

All the propaganda that was used to stop the use of drugs, also 'binge' drinking, has not had any effect, so why do the powers that be think their latest idea will deter the use of blades?

When I was a youngster there were a couple of sayings: 'spare the rod and spoil the child' and 'you have to be cruel to be kind', which held good until the do-gooders came on the scene. It is about time that the kid glove"was taken off and a mailed fist used in its place - that way there would be a better chance of sorting these knife-wielding illegitimates out once and for all.

How many more murders will ruin the lives of the citizens of this country before our spineless MPs, judges, magistrates, etc. show a modicum of courage and do their jobs properly, and so eradicate all this violence in the UK, which is endemic these days?
