Club thanked for raising £900
Published on 29th May 2008 in Letters
Sir - I am writing from the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign to thank the Goole Mountaineering Club for their generosity in raising a massive £900 for our research into testicular and prostate cancer.
Last year, ten members of the club took on the challenge of climbing Mont Blanc in France. Braving extreme weather and strenuous Alpine conditions, the team more than earned their sponsorship money.
Everyman is a campaign to raise awareness of, and fund research into, testicular and prostate cancer. The Everyman Centre is Europe's first and only centre dedicated to male cancer research.
We are hugely grateful to the fundraising efforts of the Goole Mountaineering Club, whose money will go directly to fund the groundbreaking work of our scientists.
