Goole Town Girls U11s 3

Idle Juniors 0

The Goole youngsters, with only three players in the squad the correct age, clinched the U11 Division Two Championship of the West Riding League having been unbeaten in every league game this season.

The team, who have conceded only five goals all season, have one game to go at Bingley but cannot now be passed.

Idle, with a long mid-week journey from Bradford, were late arriving and the game almost finished in the dark - but not before Jamie Allan (2) and Beth Leeman (1) had scored the goals that takes the Championship to Goole.

Earlier, Idle had provided a stern dogged test for Goole and survived for almost 20 minutes before Beth Leeman opened the scoring.

Goole were never at their best in this game but did enough with sound defence and enough ingenuity in attack to make the game safe.

Goole will receive the Championship Trophy in Batley on 28th May

The 11s ended the week in fine style bringing yet another trophy to Goole when winning the UK Football Tours Filey Cup in Filey on Sunday. They e won all their games including matches against teams from the Nottingham and Northampton areas Jamie Allan top scoring with seven with two crucial penalties well taken by Emily Lappin.

It was another excellent all round team effort from Goole against much bigger and physical opponents.
