Sir - Living in Goole you cannot help noticing that many of our streets are named after people.

The organisers of the local lottery could make a fortune if occasionally their first prize was to name a street after the winning ticket holder.

I'd buy a ticket, several in fact. I can see it now - Paul Thompson Street. A row of terraced houses with a pub at either end, a gent's barbers and a betting shop in the middle.

Marvellous.
