Graves safety-check

Published on 28th February 2008 in Letters

Sir - Further to your previous report about graves in Howden Minster churchyard and last week's letter from Howden Civic Society, I can confirm that Howden Town Council already has all the information about the names and inscriptions on the graves, as well as a plan of their location.

Could I please clarify that the task at hand presently is a safety check on the stability of the headstones and the need accurately to identify the family ownership of those monuments which are unsafe, using the available information.

Liz Charnock

(Clerk, Howden Town Council)
