Sir - It looks like Goole is set to lose yet another important facility, the Westfield Avenue Post Office. It's a crazy decision because there is a compelling social and economic argument to keep it.

It's a focal point in the community and it's convenient for so many people, but also thousands of people are moving to Goole to work on the Centreport site. How will Goole cope with only one Post Office? Unfortunately these arguments were rarely heard in the campaign to save the Post Office as local politicians concentrated on scoring cheap political points against their opponents.

In contrast, communities in Lincolnshire united to fight for their Post Offices and I am sorry to say it has come as no surprise that Goole is losing ours whilst places like Louth and Lincoln are saving theirs.

Have your noticed that when there is an issue of importance in Goole it's the same small group of politically-obsessed busybodies who put themselves forward and make things worse for the rest of us. Wouldn't it be nice if just for once they kept their mouths shut and let someone else have a try.
