Sir - In response to your front-page story of last week regarding the closure of Post Offices in the area including Westfield Avenue, it is sad to learn that Post Office Ltd is proposing to close Westfield Avenue and reduce services offered in places such as Reedness.

At Goole Post Office on Hedley Court, we are now planning as to how we can cater for a possible increase in customers should the proposed closure of Westfield Avenue happen. These plans include opening all six counters as key times such as Monday mornings and other times identified as exceptionally busy periods.

Our aim is to minimise the time people have to queue to be served. Here at Hedley Court we offer the full range of Post Office products and services including car tax, currency on demand, passport check and send, and free to use ATM sited in the Post Office.

We are fully disabled-compliant, with a reduced-height counter to aid people if they wish. We also offer a range of other products including stationery and packaging materials, toys, cards and gifts. The proposed outreach service will probably be sited in the current Post Office offering the full range of products as detailed above. However, the Post Office may run on a reduced number of hours depending on the business requirements. Please note we aim to offer all customers the best possible service we can, at all times.
