Adelphi warehouse set for demolition
Published on 26th April 2007 in Letters
Sir - ERYC have now purchased the Adelphi Warehouse off Hook Road and almost immediately have issued themselves with a demolition order.
If you or I had bought a property and decided to demolish it, wouldn't we have to apply for planning permission? What makes ERYC so different? As demolition is now planned to take place in the next six months, will ERYC now use the same raison d'etre to begin the demolition of the two streets?
It appears to me that once again ERYC are demonstrating a Stalinist approach to local government and once again demonstrating their complete lack of accountability to the electorate.
What value our ERYC councillors in this sorry mess? The phrase 'chocolate fireguard' springs to mind.
On May 3 the people of Goole will have the opportunity to show what they actually think of our current ERYC councillors.
