Just get on with jct 36

Published on 8th February 2007 in Letters

Sir - At last, a piece of common sense coming from the East Riding Labour Group, distancing themselves from Cllr Dean's unrealistic vision for the area around jct 36.

Goole is, and always has been, an industrial area, so we need industries and jobs to come to the area to replace the ones lost over the years.

Why should people need to travel many miles to work when there could be plenty of jobs on their doorstep? It is gross negligence by the governing bodies of Goole, considering our geographical position in the UK and the transport network we have, that this area is not booming.

How difficult can it be to provide access and a car park to Oak Hill, and re-locate a few newts? Please get on with it so the rest of us can get on with earning a living on our doorsteps.
