Local fans of musical theatre will not want to miss an electrifying musical production of the hit 80s film Footloose when it arrives at Hull City Hall for a one-week run starting Monday, November 24.
Based on the film starring Kevin Bacon, Footloose tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenager who was raised in Chicago. Ren moves to a small town held back by the memory of a tragedy, where dancing is banned. In his mission to bring back dance to the heart of the town, Ren must figure out a way to get around the law and the Reverend Shaw Moore, who tries to keep the town free from dancing and rock music.
Footloose is directed and choreographed by Olivier Award winner Karen Bruce (Fame, The Wedding Singer and Saturday Night Fever). Featuring classic 80s anthems including 'Holding Out For a Hero', 'Almost Paradise', 'Let's Hear it For the Boy' and the title track 'Footloose', this production is packed full of electrifying dance routines that are sure to get audiences on their feet.
Lauded as 'the perfect show' by The Daily Express, audiences are advised to book early for an evening filled with energetic dancing and catchy songs that are guaranteed to entertain the whole family.
